What is a Gastric Balloon? A gastric balloon is a non-surgical procedure performed in Turkey to aid in weight loss. It involves inserting a silicone balloon filled with a saline solution into the stomach orally, using an endoscope. This balloon reduces the stomach's capacity, leading to a quicker feeling of fullness and the consumption of smaller food portions. This, in turn, helps in gradual and safe weight loss.
Types of Gastric Balloons Our center offers a range of approved gastric balloon types, notably including:
Orbera: It is inserted endoscopically and remains in the stomach for six months.
Elipse: This balloon is swallowed as a capsule without the need for an endoscope or anesthesia, and it exits the body naturally after four months.
Preparations Before the Procedure Before undergoing gastric balloon placement, patients are advised to do the following:
Fasting for at least six hours before the procedure.
Undergo comprehensive medical examinations to ensure readiness for the procedure.
